The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed term month position to cover maternity leave available immediately until December 2021

As the External Relations Events Coordinator you will have responsibility for planning, developing, delivering and evaluating high profile public events for the University of Adelaide. From visiting dignitaries, to building openings, high profile speakers and Carols on Campus; the Events Coordinator is a critical player within a dynamic and fast pace team. Events experience, creativity, diligence and a good sense of humour are necessary attributes to succeed in this role.

The External Relations Branch comprises of three units i.e. Advancement Office, Media and Corporate Relations and Cultural & Campus Events.  The Branch has been created to develop and foster partnerships and links with business, government, alumni and the community and to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of engagement activities, including communications, within one portfolio

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in event/project management.
  • Experience in client engagement and relationship management.
  • An awareness of fundraising and relationship building activities in a large organisation, in particular the university environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and working with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability in supporting team members and supervising staff.
