Summary of Duties:

The Graduate Senior Advisor for the College of Nursing (CON) is a senior position reporting to the Director of the Center for Student Excellence (CSE). This position manages and improves administrative processes and policies that help develop, advance, and sustain the College’s educational mission.
In support of the lifecycle for student success, this position is responsible for proactively ensuring a quality experience for students, overseeing the graduate program from the application process through the delivery of graduate advising services. The program provides support to traditional and non-traditional students in the CON graduate programs (MN, DNP, PhD, MEPN). This position directly supervises the Spokane graduate advisor while also maintaining a caseload of students.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of full-time academic advising experience at a college or university or relevant professional experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional academic advising experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis. Positions who will lead or supervise will require one or more years of full-time experience leading or supervising the work of others.

Additional Requirements:

  • Because this position supervises others, one or more years of full time experience leading or supervising the work of others.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service experience and skills.
  • Demonstrated experience learning and using multiple software programs and online systems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the areas of customer service; organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Willingness and ability to take on new assignments and learn new skills as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in a health-related setting or organization.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and/or using computerized record systems and information management.
  • Experience working with a formalized network of schools of nursing.

Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $5,635.87; commensurate with qualifications and experience
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
