Position Details:

The College of Nursing is seeking an engaging and motivated individual to support the advancement and development activities of the college. This individual will coordinate annual fundraising plans and activities such as Call-A-Coug, direct mail, giving days, and e-solicitations for gifts of $25,000 and under. This position will focus on scholarship solicitations and upgrades by incorporating annual support, endowment, and planned gifts in the annual giving plan. Responsibilities include collecting and processing gifts and confirming account balances.

This position functions as the liaison with the central WSU Foundation and WSU Alumni Association to perform a variety of fundraising and alumni engagement activities. This position assists with alumni and donor engagement activities to support the priorities of the College of Nursing.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Fundraising (50%)
  • Special Events and Alumni Relations (30%)
  • Strategy and Prospect Management (15%)
  • Miscellaneous (5%)

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and to travel.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of hire and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated computer capabilities and familiarity with spreadsheets and database systems and willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with health care organizations and foundations.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, but within a collaborative team environment, and ability to establish priorities and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records and completely timely reports and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary data.

Monthly Salary: $3750.85 - $5,397.56 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
