There is a position at the Institute of Information Systems (Director: Prof. Dr. R. Möller; Research group of Prof. Dr. S. Groppe) of the University of Lübeck as soon as possible to be filled as

for a limited period of 36 months in full time (38,7 hours per week). The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The opportunity for academic qualification for retrieving the Doctor title is given.

The position is part of a joint research project with the Université de Paris (with a focus on data quality) and Université Paul Sabatier (in Toulouse with a focus on natural language processing). The employee at the University of Lübeck will mainly deal with knowledge graphs, data analysis and visualizations.

Our project is concerned with generating high-quality knowledge graphs for emerging English, French and German trends using the example of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to get a general overview of the trends in how facts develop across time and languages, and to carry out a high-quality assessment of these facts in enriched knowledge graphs to support further analysis with meaningful visualizations.

Main areas of activity:

  • Integration of data sources
  • Semi- and automatic creation of knowledge graphs
  • Data analysis and visualization of the analysis results

Requirements:

  • Very good degree (master's degree or comparable) in computer science or a comparable course of study
  • Good knowledge of German, English, communicative and reliable, knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Experience in software development
  • Knowledge of the semantic web/knowledge graphs, data analysis and visualizations are an advantage

The grouping takes place in accordance with the automatic tariff if the tariff requirements are fulfilled up to pay group 13 TV-L. A final job evaluation is reserved.
