Job Summary:

This Researcher position will support the research program of Rachel Grob, MA, PhD and will provide research expertise to fundamental and applied scientific research and solve problems in research development and applications to support the advancement of the Qualitative and Health Experiences Research (Q-HER) Lab. Responsibilities will include overall research support, assisting in grant submissions, developing reports, conducting literature reviews, co-authoring publications, project management, leading dissemination and implementation for various projects including working with and overseeing work with data in video and audio as well as transcript formats. This position may supervise student workers.


Responsibilities:
Provides technical expertise to fundamental and/or applied scientific research under the direction of senior research personnel or faculty.
  • 20% Collects and analyzes basic research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures
  • 20% Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities and assists with publications
  • 10% Trains individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
  • 20% Assists with the development of research methodologies and procedures
  • 5% Identifies concerns and recommends solutions to leadership
  • 5% Assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
  • 10% Helps prepare, organize, and maintain video, audio, and text clips for the study team
  • 10% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers

Required
Master's Degree
Preferred focus in Public Health or related field


Qualifications:

- Minimum two years of experience in public health or social research environment required. Graduate and/or student experience will be considered.
- Experience working with health experiences data in multiple formats preferred.
- Experience providing staff or student support within a multidisciplinary team is desirable.
- One year of experience in qualitative or mixed-methods research is preferred, including any related experience in dissemination and implementation.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MAXQDA software, and/or Abode premier software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organization skills.


License/Certification:

Required
Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards
Travel is required. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. The starting salary for the position is $42,226 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
