Job Title: Lab Sciences Research Services Professional (Open Rank, Entry -Senior)

Job Summary:

The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a self-motivated, full-time employee at the level of research assistant to work with faculty investigators on a project studying interactions between cancer (primarily melanoma), the immune system, and the microbiome. The major responsibilities of this position will include processing blood and tissue specimens from patients on a clinical trial, collection and organization of clinical data, and analysis of human and mouse immune responses. Other in vitro projects are related to investigating how tumors induce immune suppression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic cell culture techniques
  • Basic laboratory maintenance and organization
  • Tissue storage and banking
  • Cellular and molecular analysis
  • Cell isolation and FACS analysis
  • Development of research protocols and techniques
  • Maintain an organized and thorough lab notebook
  • Working with mouse models of cancer
  • Working with other laboratory staff and collaborators as needed
  • Work with human clinical research subjects and/or specimens
  • Interactions with regulatory personnel and processes

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Entry Professional:

  • A bachelor’s degree in biology or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Intermediate Professional:

  • A bachelor’s degree in biology or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of previous basic laboratory experience including work with cells and tissues.

Senior Professional:

  • A bachelor’s degree in biology or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of previous basic laboratory experience including work with cells and tissues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Entry Level:

  • Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • One (1) year of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including DNA, RNA, and protein isolation.

Intermediate Level:

  • Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including DNA, RNA, and protein isolation.

Senior Level:

  • Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including DNA, RNA, and protein isolation.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

    Entry: $45,000 - $57,240

    Intermediate: $48,970 - $62,290

    Senior: $52,941 - $67,341

    The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
