Job Summary:

Nature of Work:

The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is accepting applications for Human Resources Professionals to support the SDM workforce community with primary responsibilities in Talent Acquisition & Onboarding. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and will collaborate with other SDM HR professionals and the university. 

We welcome applications from individuals who are interested in working in an academic medical environment and are able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are collaborative, communicative, detail oriented, organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus . Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., career fairs, employee consultations, professional development), but typically will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm. Hybrid options are considered and will be determined by the SDM HR Director.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Administration (20%)

  • Process a variety of human resource transactions (i.e., position creations, job requisition requests, hiring requests) using university and SDMHR business applications and technologies; Responsible for tracking accurate and timely employee data and records.
  • Remains current and up to date on human resource, university staff and classified policies and laws and communicates changes as necessary to management and staff.
  • Contributes to the implementation, interpretation, and revision of SDMHR programs, policies, and procedures according to institutional and legal rules and regulations (i.e., university, classified, equal pay act).
  • Serves as a SDMHR back-up for non-assigned HR functional areas; Partners with other SDMHR Professionals in developing cross functional workforce programing.

Recruitment & Onboarding (80%)

Professional Level:

  • Learn, develop, coordinate, and serve as the primary point of contact for SDM talent acquisition and recruitment outreach; develops and coordinates SDM recruitment and onboarding life cycle (i.e., HR processes, policies, and workflows).
  • Coordinates and processes hiring and onboarding for SDM (i.e., HCM transactions, SDM HR approval workflows, orientation scheduling, onboarding presentations university badging, office keys, parking, IT access for email and servers, pagers, office space and telephones), and provides consultative support for various SDM unit, division, and departments.

Senior-Level Professional (those at the senior level key responsibilities):

  • Evaluate and identify SWOT/recommendations to develop and improve SDM talent acquisition policies, standards of practices, and workflows while in consideration of university, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations (i.e., university, classified, equal pay act); proactively communicates SWOT/recommendations to SDMHR Director.
  • Serve as a search committee lead consultant and develop advanced recruitment initiatives and partnerships to increase the diversity and inclusion of SDM recruitments.
  • Designs, develops, and manages recruitment resources for the SDM workforce community.
  • Analyze data and create dashboards and pivot tables to communicate with SDMHR Director and other key stakeholders on themes, projections, and recommendations.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Professional Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year of professional experience working in human resources talent acquisition/recruitment.
  • Experience working in human resources onboarding.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Senior Professional Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in human resources talent acquisition recruitment.
  • Experience working in human resources onboarding.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of professional experience working in human resources talent acquisition/recruitment.
  • One (1) year of experience working in human resources onboarding.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in an academic medical human resource capacity.
  • Experience working with HRIS data effectively analyzing as well as identifying gaps and/or recommendations for change.
  • Experience with the University of Colorado Denver’s Human Capital Management (HCM) system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.
  • Knowledge of professional standards, concepts and practices related to Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
  • Ability to take initiative with daily work activities and collaborates to create a positive effect on team performance.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range for this position has been established as 

Intermediate Professional - $47,350 – $60,230

Senior Professional Level - $51,190 - $65,113

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
