Dakota State University is seeking applicants to fill multiple Dakota Dreams Summer Camp Counselor positions. Dakota Dreams camp is a week-long career exploration camp for incoming 7th and 8th grade students. This position provides a dynamic opportunity to be a positive influence and role model.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Available for the entire duration of camp July 14 – July 18
  • Arriving on July 13th for staff orientation
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Passionate about working with kids.
  • Enthusiastic, kind, and outgoing.

DUTIES:
  • Live in the university residence halls for one week with 7th and 8th grade school students participating in the summer camp (you will have your own room)
  • Assist with dormitory business (enforcing curfew, attending meetings, ensuring student safety, cleaning, etc.)
  • Assist with implementing and supervising activities (field trips, evening recreation, transportation) – Act as a role model to the campers.
  • Assist with building activities and meetings with small groups of students.
  • Supervise recreational activities.
  • Assist camp leaders with daily camp activities.
