As part of University Services, the Research Services sector concentrates on supporting the University’s internationally high-quality research and its prerequisites, doctoral education, and the impact and usability of research.

We are now inviting applications to the position of

PROJECT COORDINATOR

to be appointed on a permanent basis. The appointee will work for EU-funded consortium projects coordinated by the University of Helsinki, primarily in life sciences (Viikki Campus, biological and environmental sciences, and agriculture and forestry). The duties of the position mainly relate to the administrative and communicative aspects of projects. However, depending on the appointee’s background, responsibilities related more to the content of research are also possible.

About the position

As a project coordinator, your duties will include tasks related to project management, communication, and reporting. These include planning operations; organising events, training and meetings; supporting collaboration among various parties; and a range of communication tasks. Your duties will also include assistance in financial and HR matters relevant to these projects or other projects headed by the project leaders. Depending on your expertise and interests, your role may also include coordination more closely related to the research conducted at the relevant units.

Your background

You wish to work in a dynamic and international environment. You are capable of taking initiative and enjoy working independently, but also work smoothly in a group and with a range of people. The position requires experience in duties related to research administration or funding, preferably from (consortium) projects funded by the EU. You have good interaction and communication skills on fluent level in English. Skills in other languages, including Finnish, are an asset. You also have some experience in organising seminars, meetings or other events.

Why work for us?

We offer you a diverse and challenging position supporting top-level research in an international work community. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as part of the University’s high-quality Research Services. You will be supported by skilled colleagues and the University work community. Your wellbeing at work is our priority, and we will help you thrive by providing, for example, flexible working hours, inexpensive and diverse sports services and occupational health services.

The appointment will be made on a permanent basis. The starting date is negotiable, but we hope the appointee can take up the position by the end of August 2022. The salary for the position will depend on the appointee’s expertise and experience, typically being in the range of €3,300 to € 3,700 per month.

Interested?

Please send your application through our recruitment system by 1 June 2022, including your curriculum vitae (CV) and a short motivation letter. The University of Helsinki welcomes applicants of any gender, linguistic and cultural background, or minority group.
