Events and Sponsorship Manager

With three academic faculties, one teaching division, several research centres and a range of corporate service units, the Lincoln University draws its students from throughout New Zealand and from over 60 countries. Lincoln University has a student roll of around 3,000 and approximately 700 staff. 

The events and sponsorship function for the University is part of the wider Customer Engagement team. We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to plan, organise and run  strategically considered student recruitment and marketing events, and sponsorship activity for the University.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have experience in delivering multiple events at the same time
  • Be able to develop sound business plans for running events linked to strategic business goals
  • Negotiate sponsorship arrangements that benefit the university, and have the ability to leverage arrangements to the best possible outcome
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate cross functional teams to deliver results
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Exercise good judgment, prioritise your own tasks and those of other staff
  • Be willing and able to set up/pack down and be on-site at events
  • Be able to see the big picture and well as the essential details for each event
  • Have experience of managing staff and event volunteers
  • Have an awesome, positive can-do attitude
  • Ideally, have some experience in a busy, modern, business orientated environment or a large public sector environment.

Some flexibility around hours of work and travel is required and you will need to have a full NZ drivers licence.

This is a permanent, fulltime position.
