Applications are invited for the position of Teaching Fellow in Plant Sciences. This Teaching Fellow position will contribute to teaching in the broad area of Plant Sciences at both undergraduate and graduate level. The position will also provide an opportunity for the candidate to engage with ongoing teaching, research, horticulture and outreach activities of Trinity College Botanic Garden by contributing to the Garden’s strategic plan https://trinitybotanicgarden.ie/strategic-plan/. We have a particular interest in recruiting a candidate with expertise in paleobotany, plant trait ecology or plant biodiversity, however this is an open search for a candidate with experience and a passion for teaching the next generation of botanists in any relevant area of plant science. The candidate will be part of PI Jennifer McElwain’s research group and a team member of the TERRAFORM project. TERRAFORM is an ERC Advanced project that aims to investigate the evolution of plant traits using fossil plants, experimentation and modelling and to examine how paleo-traits TERRAFORMed the Earth surface over the past 300 million years.

The Teaching Fellow position will be based in the Discipline of Botany but will contribute to shared modules across Biology & Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Science & Engineering, Botany, Environmental Sciences and Zoology. Staff in Botany currently work on a wide array of research areas including palaeobotany, palaeoecology, evolution of plant-fungal interactions, pollination biology, plant molecular biology, urban ecology, sustainable diets, global change and plant physiology.
