This is a fixed term, specified purpose, part-time (17.5 hours per week) position over 3.5 years, initially reporting to the Head of Research.  

The person appointed to this role will be an experienced self-starter and be able to give evidence of their capacity to discharge responsibility and decision-making within Research Operations and Systems. The position necessitates both formal and informal leadership and well developed interpersonal, communication, time, project, office management and ICT skills are required.

The Professional Research Systems Officer discharges technical, administrative leadership and supervisory management responsibilities within the Research Office and across the Institute. The PRS Officer will play a key role in enhancing the range, quality and timeliness of digital and technical research services to IADT. The appointee will review, develop and lead several strategic, technical operations initiatives to achieve key deliverables for the Institute in research support.

About Elevate

ELEVATE is funded under the TU Research and Innovation Supporting Enterprise scheme (TU RISE). The purpose of the scheme is to establish, strengthen, and systemise the IADT research and innovation office to enable greater and more structured engagement with local and regional enterprises and community stakeholders. ELEVATE focuses on the Creative and Cultural Sector and Industries (CCSI). The aim is to strengthen research capacity, accelerate commercial applications, and align with Smart Specialisation Strategy and Regional Enterprise Plans. The project envisions creating a research and innovation ecosystem, emphasising Technology and Policy for the CCSI, sustainable innovation, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

The TU RISE scheme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EDRF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-27 and the Northern & Western Regional Programme 2021-2027, and recipients of TU RISE funding must adhere to the communication requirements for their relevant region in line with Articles 22 (3) and 50 (1) (e) of the Common Provisions Regulations 2021/1060.
