Post Summary

The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Anatomy. The applicant must hold a higher degree in anatomy or an anatomically related science and have an academic record commensurate to their career stage and the responsibilities of the post. Teaching responsibilities will involve supervision of practical classes, management of dissection theatre activities and occasional lecture delivery. The post will involve liaison with, and the support of module leads in the coordination and preparation of anatomy practical class teaching and assessments to students (primarily first and second year fresh). The successful candidate will be required to undertake teaching related administrative duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of Discipline.

The Discipline teaches practical anatomy primarily through dissected and prosected human donor bodies and vertically integrates anatomical knowledge where possible.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in cadaveric anatomy. Experience in undergraduate teaching is highly desirable. The post holder must have an excellent command of the English language and good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Police vetting will be sought in respect of individuals who come under consideration for a post.

Post status: 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract  

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week


Salary:

This appointment will be made on the

Teaching Fellow 175BN Scale

(€38,719 to €50,134) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
