The School of Creative Arts at Trinity College Dublin seeks applications from highly qualified candidates with an international research and teaching record for the post of Associate Professor in Music. The successful applicant will have an established reputation in teaching and research in a field of musical studies, with a preference for emphasis on musicology, and will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision and mentoring. The candidate should demonstrate excellence in research, teaching and academic administration, and willingness to undertake leadership roles in the Discipline, School, Faculty and College. The successful candidate will join a small, dedicated team in the Discipline of Music within the School, contributing to the growth of the Discipline’s reputation in research and teaching and to the overall mission of the School of Creative Arts. They will bring a strong track record of third-level teaching, research and outreach to complement existing expertise in the School.

It is essential that the successful candidate is an active and experienced educator and researcher in Music, with a record of excellence in their work, including publication, teaching and assessment, and experience of supervising students from undergraduate projects through to doctoral level. The successful candidate will engage in research, music-related outreach initiatives at a national and international level and will actively seek external funding opportunities.

The Discipline of Music in Trinity has strong links with external partners and is committed to maintaining and enhancing these links. The successful candidate will have an appreciation of the range of research, teaching and artistic interests represented in Music and will be able to articulate a clear vision for the development of their particular field in the university and beyond.

Post status: Permanent Contract

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Associate Professor (Former pay scale name ‘Senior Lecturer’) Salary Scale (105B) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy (€85,675 to €110,635 per annum)   https://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/monthly-academic.pdf
