About TRTS
The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services (TRTS) is a large organisation with over 100 staff divided into 5 clusters. The two teams within the Social Sciences, Humanities & Education Cluster provides specialist technical support to students and staff from the Schools of Social Sciences, Humanities & Communication Arts, Education, Psychology and Health Sciences

The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Music, Media, and Design Team.

About you and the role
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual on a fixed-term contract until 21 July 2024. As a Part-time (0.4 FTE job share) Senior Technical Support Officer Audio you will have the opportunity to support teaching and research, with a primary focus on performing activities in Music and Music Therapy discipline areas, with specific focus on the area of sound production.
Experience/Skills
To succeed in this role, you should possess a degree with a particular focus on sound design, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. A client-focused mindset, innovative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to a culture of continuous improvement are essential. Additionally, you should have demonstrated experience in maintaining digital music lab environments both physical and virtual and a high level of computer literacy skills including audio and music software management to maintain server (JAMF) based resources for the teaching program.

Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Penrith (Kingswood) campus, however as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.

Hours of work for employees in Teaching & Research Technical Services may vary due to operational requirements in supporting teaching classes or research projects and further details are outlined in the position description.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $42,943 to $46,029 p.a. (comprising Salary of $36,287 to $38,895 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)

Note, the above salary is 0.4 FTE of the full time rate.
