  • Base Salary HEO 4 (38 hours), $83,755 - $88,497 p.a. + 17% superannuation (a total package up to approximately $103,541 p.a.)  + loadings for after hours and weekend shifts applied.

As part of the Sydney School of Veterinary Science which is ranked #1 in the Southern Hemisphere, the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney (UVTHS) provides a clinical learning experience for veterinary students with staff engaged in professional training programs through provision of veterinary services to the public. 

We are currently seeking two (2) Billings Nurses to play a key role in supporting our Academics and Clinicians across all services and support the training of the next generation of veterinarians. The Billings Nurses will provide financial support to University Veterinary Teaching Hospital by managing and overseeing the billing processes. In the position you will be 

  • responsible for generating and processing estimates and invoices for veterinary services

  • responsible for proactively identifying and resolving billing issues with a constructive problem-solving mindset

  • responsible for training and inducting both staff and students in billing practices and processes as required

  • working closely with insurance companies to submit claims, verify coverage and resolve billing discrepancies

  • providing clear and concise explanations of veterinary bills to clients and addressing any questions or concerns they may have

  • Working collaboratively with a number of groups in the hospital including the reception team, unit heads, veterinarians and administrative staff.

About you

  • a certificate IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent training/experience

  • demonstrated understanding/experience in Veterinary/Medical billing

  • experience in the training of staff/students in new processes and practices

  • a strong communicator who can provide excellent customer service 

  • an ability to effectively communicate with staff, clients and students
