  • Base Salary $104,633 - $113,992+ 17% superannuation  

About the opportunity

The Business School is seeking a creative and experienced Digital Learning Designer to join their team!

As the Digital Learning Designer, you will work within a small, close knit team environment made up of 7 team members, with whom you will collaborate and liaise closely with. Outside the immediate team, you will collaborate closely with other Business Co-Design team members supporting Business School academics. You will do this by co-designing student-centred, technology-informed learning experiences.  

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support Business School academics by co-designing interactive learning experiences which are engaging and pedagogically sound for both blended and online delivery

  • work closely with academics and educational developers to identify learning delivery options, then design and embed these in the context of a technology-enabled environment

  • integrate digital learning in targeted curriculum areas to meet the teaching needs of the Business School and University educational strategies

  • support teaching staff in the areas of online, hybrid, and interactive learning, including enhancing the use of the University’s Learning Management System (Canvas) and associated plugins

  • undertake ongoing exploration of new technologies, innovations and developments to enhance interactive learning approaches and student-centred learning experiences.

About you

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in an area relevant to Learning Design (Undergraduate minimum)

  • professional experience working as a Learning Designer in a tertiary education environment or equivalent (higher education, secondary education, vocational or equivalent)

  • experience in adapting, designing and/or co-developing content for technology- enabled learning environments

  • demonstrated experience in using interactive tools and plug-ins to create, build and enhance educational delivery

  • ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work

  • agile problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
