About the opportunity

The University of Sydney seeks a talented Graphic Designer to join the Marketing and Communications Brand Team. This role involves providing creative, conceptual, and information design services to meet diverse stakeholder needs. Responsibilities include implementing the University brand across print and digital media, leading design projects, and advising clients on design best practices within a collaborative design team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • produce high-quality and innovative designs within the brand guidelines by leveraging creative, conceptual, and information design skills.

  • receive and interpret client briefs

  • prepress final artwork for print and deliver digital files for hand off

  • create designs with the Creative Studio team that respond to brief and continue to evolve the master brand

  • ensure projects are completed within agreed timeframes by responding flexibly and innovatively to changes in the clients timelines

  • think strategically across campaigns and provide art direction and recommendations to create compelling designs and or illustrations.

  • build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff across the university

  • other ad hoc duties as required

About you

  • has tertiary qualifications within Graphic Design or similar field

  • has prior Graphic Design experience working for large and complex organisations

  • digital and/illustration skills are not mandatory but are advantageous

  • advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including indesign and photoshop.

  • excellent written and verbal communications, able to interpret the needs of clients

  • prior experience taking briefs and creating designs that meet a clients specifications

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
