About the opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Media Adviser (Humanities) to join our University media team. In this busy role, you will work closely with the Media Adviser as the first point of contact for media inquiries in the humanities and to proactively promote achievements and research stories.  You will also carry out regular media monitoring and compile and distribute media monitoring reports and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the team.

About you

  • demonstrates qualifications or relevant work experience in a media environment
  • is experienced in managing and escalating media inquiries or similar
  • possesses strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • proven expertise in CMS
  • has demonstrated experience managing administrative support in a busy professional team

While the role will focus on the humanities (principally the Faculty of Arts and Social Science but may also include Sydney Law School, the Conservatorium and Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning) the management team of Media and Public Relations reserves the right to transfer the portfolio of this position based on workloads or business needs.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
