Your new role

The Advancement Officer is responsible for supporting the strategic fundraising and alumni engagement efforts of faculty based Advancement and University Advancement.  The main areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, general administration which supports cultivation and stewardship activities, proactively ensuring all engagement with constituents is recorded and maintained in the CRM, ensuring constituent details are up to date, preparing prospect and donor correspondence, information management requests and reports as required. 

You will work closely and collaboratively with a variety of teams across the University including financial services, scholarships, faculty and internal + external stakeholders. There are three positions available – one in each of the faculties of Humanities, Science and Engineering, and Business and Law. In this role you will…  

  • Coordinate donor and volunteer cultivation and stewardship activities by initiating mailings, arranging meetings and coordination. 
  • Work with the Advancement Operations team to utilise the Raiser’s Edge (CRM database) and other office software to maintain, extract and analyse data, and produce reports, including financial reports, donor impact reports and forecasts. 
  • Maintain and update Raiser’s Edge records in a timely manner to improve data quality, quantity and accuracy of constituent information. 
  • Ensure all activity is accurately documented and actioned within appropriate timescales. 
  • Manage positive and professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with the Gift Services Coordinator to ensure all private support in the faculty is reflected in Raiser’s Edge and to provide support with transactional activities for receiving and processing donations 
  • Recognise and report risks to the Head of Advancement in a transparent and timely manner 
  • Resolve operational problems and facilitate the development and implementation of initiatives, processes and system to improve efficiency. 
  • Contribute to a variety of fundraising campaigns that have significant social impact across the University and community.

We are looking for someone with… 

  • Demonstrated relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education/training 
  • Previous experience using CRM Software essential – Raiser’s Edge or similar Fundraising software advantageous   
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure, displaying flexibility, initiative and decisiveness  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop key relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders 
  • The ability to analyse and interpret information and apply problem solving skills 
  • Excellent attention to details with ability to draft clear, concise and professional documentation
