  • Base salary range: $87,460.00 – $92,430.00 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team
Development and Alumni Relations [DAR] oversees the University’s alumni engagement and philanthropic strategy. The function works collaboratively across the University to embed philanthropic and alumni engagement activity into the University’s operations. The core responsibility of the team is to lead and build on the University’s alumni and community relations and secure philanthropic support for the University.

About the opportunity
You will play an instrumental role in supporting the development and delivery of multi-channel appeals, and related communications, which supports the fundraising activities of the University, including community fundraising, individual giving programs (acquisition and renewal), and major fundraising campaigns.

The Appeals Coordinator will also support UWA’s philanthropic outreach and share the impact philanthropic giving has on research, the student experience and education outcomes with our donors and community members.

Your key responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Delivery, you will use your communications savvy to write compelling copy, design and create engaging content, and use a variety of digital platforms to deliver appeal communications. This will include web content, direct mail, email, and managing/creating a suite of communication assets for giving days and crowdfunding activities, for example.

In addition, working with the Advancement Services team, you will use your keen data and CRM skills to help identify and manage audience segments, coordinate metrics and monitor progress and performance of appeals for reporting and continual improvement purposes.

Your role will also provide communication support, as directed by the Senior Manager, Program Delivery, to help deliver other strategic programs across DAR.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including call-to-action copywriting for both broad and targeted audiences.
  • Proven experience in a range of digital communication systems with the ability to create content and deliver communications, for example CMS, CRM, social media platforms, email marketing software and other marketing systems.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when dealing with audience segmentation and mail lists.
