About the opportunity 


 


The Educational Innovation team at the University of Sydney leads transformative initiatives to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Committed to pioneering advancements, they collaborate across disciplines to shape the future of our education. 


 


As an Educational Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead support services for academic and professional staff, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders. You will be instrumental in ensuring that academic and professional staff are supported while using the University’s teaching and learning systems. 


Reporting to the Senior Manager (Learning Environments), your key responsibilities will be to: 


  • lead and mentor the Educational Innovation helpdesk team 

  • manage educational support services, ensuring timely response and issue resolution 

  • oversee the integration of external tools with Canvas LMS to align with goals 

  • efficiently allocate resources, monitor service tickets, and manage escalating technical issues 

  • identify process improvement areas, develop training programs, and maintain clear communication 


  • collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and ensure compliance for informed decision-making. 


 


About you

  • tertiary qualifications in related field and/or relative working experience  

  • people management skills, including staff performance management and development 

  • strong experience with online educational platforms and learning management systems 

  • experience with incident logging systems like ServiceNow 

  • superior problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively 

  • exceptional customer service skills and enthusiasm for leading high-performing teams.
