Your tasks
- Engage in a PhD program at the Technical University of Munich focusing on NLP and LLMs in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
- Work in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Orthopaedics (Prof. Rüdiger von Eisenhart-Rothe) and the Institute for AI and Informatics in Medicine (Prof. Daniel Rückert).
- Research development: Engage in research projects that apply NLP and LLM techniques to musculoskeletal medicine, aiming to address key challenges in the field.
- Data management: Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets, including patient records and scientific literature, using advanced NLP methods.
- Collaborative work: Collaborate with a team of computer scientists and medical professionals to develop innovastive solutions for medicine and achieve project goals.
- Academic contribution: Prepare and present research findings at academic conferences and contribute to scientific publications.
- Innovative thinking: Explore and propose novel approaches and methodologies in NLP and LLM relevant to musculoskeletal medicine.

Your profile
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who meets the following criteria:
- Educational background: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with an interest in pursuing a PhD.
- Technical skills: Advanced knowledge of programming languages, machine learning, and NLP.
- Research orientation: Keen interest in applying computational methods to healthcare, particularly musculoskeletal medicine and interact with clinical professionals.
- Analytical abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for handling complex data.
- Communication and language skills: Proficiency in both German and English is essential for effective communication and handling research data, especially given the nature of the PhD position's focus on German clinical texts.
- Team collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
