The Institute for Computer Science (Computer Networks Group ) at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill the positions of

2 Research Assistants / PhD positions (f/m/d)

with 75 % of the regular working time (corresponding to 29,85 hours per week) with a limited contract of three years as soon as possible. The salary is in accordance with the German state regulated public service salary scale (TV-L E 13).

The Computer Networks Group is working on the design, modeling, implementation and evaluation of networked systems, and has been funded by several EU, state and industry-sponsored projects.

Your duties:
• working on the area of smart cities, edge computing and/or big data analytics
• collaborate with other colleagues and project partners
• performing and publishing high quality research on international conferences and journals
• assistance on courses corresponding § 31 NHG and performance tests

Your profile:
• excellent or very good master degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines
• good programming knowledge (e.g. JAVA, Python, R, …)
• good knowledge and working experience on network/distributed systems and/or machine learning/data analytics techniques
• proficiency in English and German (spoken and written) is essential
• excellent analytical and problem solving skills
