POSTDOC POSITION

 Molecular Modeling in Medicinal Applications

Workplace: Department of Experimental Biology, Section Loschmidt Laboratories, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic

Type of Contract: temporary position with 1.5-year contract, non-academic

Working Hours: 1.0 FTE (full-time employment of 40 hours per week)

Expected Start Date: negotiable with respect to immigration timelines for non EU candidates

About the Workplace

Job Description

Key Duties:

  • Computer modelling of biomolecules and their interactions with small ligands
  • Development of computational workflows for protein design and analysis
  • Interactions with team members at the interface of theory and experiment

Skills and Qualifications

The applicant must have:

  • Be a researcher who has received a PhD or its equivalent within the last 7 years
  • Be a researcher who has worked at least two whole years in the last three outside the territory of the Czech Republic in the field of scientific research either full time or not less than 0.5 full-time equivalent, or who has been a PhD student (or equivalent) abroad
  • Have a publishing record comprising, within the last three years, at least two refereed research papers listed in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases. Publications such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews” may be considered if they were refereed and listed in the above databases.

The applicant should have:

  • Experience in molecular modelling or bioinformatics
  • Proficiency with Linux, scripting or programming skills advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate in teams
