Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions
for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,
within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Commenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,
to fill research position:
FaF_VZ3_65: PhD Student, 0,2 FTE (20 %),
Place of work: Hradec Králové
Responsibilities:
- Independent performance of the research activities in the relevant field.
- Immediate escalation of any identified risks to a superior position.
- Involvement in research for VZ3 within a renowned scientific team focused on studying skin barrier, (trans)dermal drug delivery, and pharmaceutical technology (such as "lipid delivery systems").
- Implementation of modern technological methods for analysis and manipulation of micro- and nanoplastics.
- Exploration of the potential use of technologies to better understand the impact of plastics on the structure and function of lipid membranes.
- Working with biological material ex vivo and isolation of barrier lipids, optimizing procedures for lipid isolation from biological material.
- Investigating procedures for preparing multilayered lipid membranes containing micro- and nanoplastics at various concentrations.
- Evaluation of lipid membrane permeability and lipid arrangement in membranes using biophysical methods such as X-ray diffraction, infrared, and Raman spectroscopy.
- Presentation and publication of the achieved results on an international level.
- Involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects.
- Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.
Profile:
- Education in pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, or related technological and pharmaceutical fields.
- Experience with (trans)dermal drug delivery, preparation of delivery and model systems, permeation and biophysical experiments, working with raw materials in very small quantities.
- An advantage is scientific and publication activity in the field of pharmaceutical (nano)technology, modern drug delivery systems technology for targeted distribution, or related fields.
- An advantage is publication activity (at least 1 co-authored publication), recommendation letters from 2 experts in the field (at least 1 from an international institution), grant activities, active knowledge of the English language.

The estimated monthly wage: 45 000 CZK (1,0 FTE)
The start of work: 1 July 2024, or can be negotiated
Type of employment contract: for 1-3 years, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.
Employment: part-time (0.2 FTE)
