Job Summary
 

Reporting to the ERP Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for defining and providing support for Oracle Security and Workflow configurations related to the University of Chicago’s Oracle Cloud ERP implementation. This person has strong business analysis skills and an ability to work with stakeholders to resolve issues. This role will lead the development and interpretation of IT and business processes and procedures; define the process to create the standards and procedures; and track progress to ensure standards and procedures are up to date with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for the overall Oracle Workflow configuration on Oracle Cloud ERP. 
  • Backup for the Oracle Security configuration on Oracle Cloud ERP.  
  • Collaborates with University business process owners to define the security configuration, conduct role and user mapping exercises, and support testing. 
  • Works with stakeholders to document business requirements and gain adoption. 
  • Creates detailed documentation of the process flows. 
  • Confirms requirements, and designs and maintains quality. 
  • Creates and maintains project documentation related to security and workflow. 
  • Supports project management through planning and communication with cross-functional teams across administrative and academic units. 
  • Monitors and tracks project progress; escalating risks and issues to management as needed. 
  • Coordinates workflow and security-related design and implementation events. 
  • Assists with other administrative projects as needed and acquires higher-level guidance and skills.
  • Works with University units to associate users regarding roles and responsibilities. 
  • Supports ongoing changes to role definitions and administers workflow in production. 
  • Utilizes technical knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, including public cloud offerings from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Acts as a technical consultant and resource for faculty research, teaching, and/or administrative projects.
  • Utilizes thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements to translate business and user needs into system requirement specifications.
  • Communicates and presents on system enhancements and/or alternatives to colleagues in IT management.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or systems-related fields.

Experience: 

  • Background in higher education or nonprofit industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in Oracle application Security and Workflow. 
  • Working with large Implementation partners, coordinating requirement gathering, managing teams, and reporting on daily activities. 

​Certifications:

  • Oracle Cloud certification.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Tier-1 enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Financial systems and financial process design.
  • Evaluating financial process controls. 
  • Query tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Understanding of role-based security.
  • Understanding of segregation of duties.
  • Awareness of personally identifiable information (PII) concerns.
  • Awareness of concepts related to key management, encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Understanding of Oracle Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) configuration, and security concepts and procedures. 
  • Oracle Risk Management Cloud - Advanced Access Controls (AAC), Advanced Financial Controls (AFC), and Financial Reporting Controls (FRC) are a plus.
