Job Description:

  • Acts as project lead on various process improvement initiatives.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation including detailed work plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Improves funds flow budgeting process utilizing new capabilities with Oracle Cloud and the Chart of Accounts to build mission-based P&Ls and integrated statements with UCM.
  • Creates new workflows for monthly funds flow reporting including timely reconciliation or true-ups of actuals and transition to BSD Finance staff.
  • Works with UCFP to develop tools to monitor and measure facultyâ™s performance on new compensation plans and funds flow payments. To be distributed at least Bi-Annually.
  • Working in partnership with UCM Finance and UCFP, develops scorecard for the variable payments under newly designed funds flow.
  • Serves as the funds flow content expert for staffing (hospital-based agreements) develop standard methodologies and tools for establishing a FMV payment for efforts, in partnership with the Departments and UCM Finance.
  • Serves as a change agent assessing BSD processes, evaluating opportunity, and operationalizing enhancements.
  • Assesses reporting gaps current state versus future state and implements plans to address needs. 
  • Manages stakeholders and collaborators across the enterprise in achieving project goals.
  • Establishes a BSD standard approach for work or processes that exist in multiple BSD units. This includes identifying authoritative data sources and creating standard reports or workflows.
  • Works with data from disparate systems such as Epic, Workday, and Oracle to generate meaningful reports.
  • Provides analytical support for complex budget projects. Analyzes budget estimates and proposals for completeness; accuracy; and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Identifies current and future resource planning and allocation issues and develops, leads, and supervises complex studies and analyses that will assist senior staff in reaching resource planning and allocation decisions.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an MBA.

Experience:

  • A minimum of seven years of finance experience in an academic medical center.
  • Presenting to senior academic and staff leadership.
  • Managing complex projects.
  • Working with clinical, research, and educational data.
  • Experience in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Prior experience in system implementations strongly preferred.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Prior experience working with operating units.
  • Attention to detail.
