JOB DUTIES
Description
Under the direction of the Manager of IT Operations Systems Management, provide technical support responsibilities for various Windows operating systems and hardware platforms. This role is responsible for supporting UCLA Health, UC Health shared infrastructure, Family Practice Group, and the School Of Dentistry Electronic Health Record infrastructure. To date, the supported environment consists of over 5,000+ virtual servers. Major functions include designing, building, implementing, and supporting server infrastructure (Windows OS, SCCM, DNS, Printing, server hardware, patching, anti-virus, etc). Responsible for the day-to-day 7×24 operational support, trouble tickets, system maintenance, system configuration, and adhering to standard operating procedures within IT Operations, including staff training and documentation. Role functions also include but are not limited to, participating in the design, design validation, installation, performance monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a variety of systems, various Windows operating systems, and hardware platforms. Participate in the weekly rotational after-hours on-call support. Available for after-hours on-call 24×7 support. This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least once a month and within 2 hours of being asked to come in. Each employee must complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to termination. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $95,900 -$222,100 annually. The budgeted salary that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $95,900-$140,000/year.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
1. Knowledge of Microsoft Networking, Active Directory, AD Group Policies, and Windows Security 2. Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM 3. Ability to monitor and report on management systems 4. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019 Server 5. Understanding of Microsoft Exchange and messaging environment 6. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL 7. Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS and TCP/IP 8. Able to prepare detailed project plans, presentations, procedures, diagrams and other technical documentation 9. Must participate in the weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support 10. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment 11. Ability to research and test new technologies and processes 12. Establish standards and procedures for best practices, enabling commitments to established SLA’s. 13. Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. 14. Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM architecture and design 15. Understanding of virtual environment, such as VMWare ESX and Hyper-V 16. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment 17. Ability to communicate the status of various systems to management and/or support personnel. 18. Ability to skillfully react to a fluid and constantly changing work environment. 19. Ability to train, delegate and review the work of lower level staff 20. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments 21. Strong technical leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 22. Knowledge of Cisco UCS and HP hardware 23. Knowledge of PKI infrastructure and SSL certificate 24. Knowledge of Windows clustering 25. Knowledge of Microsoft print infrastructure 26. Be able to rack and stack servers/appliances in the data center 27. Knowledge of scriptings such as Powershell or .vbs
