Tech Support Analyst


Job Description

Under supervision, you'll engage in technical tasks vital for ASU's security. This includes installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing access control systems, CCTV, and related hardware. Your responsibilities extend to handling data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, access card readers, and more. Plus, you'll play a crucial role in camera installation and upkeep, enhancing ASU's overall security infrastructure.

Essential Duties

Work across campus to maintain security hardware with meticulous attention to detail. Foster strong relationships with internal staff, faculty, and external customers, ensuring seamless collaboration. Demonstrate expertise in conducting pre-work site inspections and safety assessments, prioritizing the well-being of all involved. Take charge of installing and relocating security systems equipment, showcasing your technical understanding and ability to work autonomously.  Utilize your analytical skills to conduct research and analyze test measurements, contributing to the design of cutting-edge security systems within ASU Facilities. Your role also involves evaluating current systems and suggesting enhancements or replacements for continuous improvement. Embrace flexibility by taking on additional duties as needed, demonstrating your commitment to excellence in every task.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in technology or related field; OR,Four years experience providing information technology services; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse 75 percent; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work 10 percent. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds 15 percent. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Lift, bend, climb ladders extending to a height of 24 feet and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Activities may involve working in extreme weather conditions; hot in the summer and cold in the winter; walking and standing for extended periods of time. This position will require driving a golf cart and vehicle.
