  • Custodial is further subdivided into Academic and Residential Custodians which take care of academic and residential buildings, respectively, and setting up for conference services and other University related functions, including Commencement.
  • Maintenance Group includes Maintenance A, B, and C staff with C being entry level and A being the most skilled.  The Maintenance Group performs repairs on various building related architectural features as well as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, fire protection and controls system repairs.  
  • The Grounds Group is responsible for maintaining and improving all the campus grounds year-round.  This includes, but limited to mowing grass, trimming bushes, cutting down and sawing up tress, planting trees, shrubs, flowers, mulching, etc., various landscaping projects, blowing and collecting leaves, preparing athletic fields for games, plowing and shoveling snow, salting roadways, walking paths and steps, etc.


Job Summary

Manages the day-to-day operations and administrative activities of the custodial program. Monitors all custodial service and vendor contracts and verifies invoices. Evaluates, purchases, and repairs equipment to ensure safety.


Essential Functions 

Supervisory and organizational skills, technical expertise, and communication skills.


Physical Effort 

Position requires constant mobility in four (4) season weather conditions. A broad variety of campus conditions must be negotiated. Extensive walking, some climbing of ladders, and bending for work inspections can be expected.
