University Advancement is seeking a Relationship Management Lead, Health Sciences to join its Relationship Management and Tracking System (RMATS) team. Reporting to the Director, Relationship Management, the incumbent will serve the University’s health sciences schools and units as a lead subject matter expert for prospect and relationship management queries. The Manager is part of our central Advancement team (University Advancement) and will support constituents across the wider Advancement community (comprising central staff and school/unit staff) to help ensure that all health prospects move through the fundraising cycle efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder/stakeholder manager who is committed to high-quality customer service in pursuit of excellent outcomes, and possesses demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities in the areas of development research, prospect management, and/or prospect development.

This is a hybrid position under our current work arrangement plan, with the expectation of on-site presence in our downtown Los Angeles office (USC Tower).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary subject matter expert and resource for prospect/relationship management queries for USC’s health sciences schools and units, and when necessary, USC’s larger advancement community.

  • Ensure that all relationship management queries and requests from health schools (or that are associated with health initiatives) are answered efficiently and tracked effectively.

  • Build collaborative and strategic relationships/partnerships between and among teams and colleagues, especially those in health.

  • Conceptualize strategic, high-impact prospect identification projects that support a robust prospect pipeline for the University’s health priorities.

  • Assist with fundraiser portfolio creation and refinement.

  • Provide project and resource management internally among the health sciences schools and units, in partnership with and support of colleagues in Development Research, Business Intelligence, and CRM User Experience, as well as other advancement stakeholders, when required.

  • Maintain the completeness and accuracy of advancement data through regular updates and audits.

  • Ensure adherence to ethical prospect development practices and applicable data privacy laws and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

  • 2-4 years of development research, prospect management, or prospect development experience in a healthcare, higher education, or complex non-profit environment.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • A passion for excellent customer service, commitment to exceptional quality, and the ability to inspire colleagues toward accomplishing common objectives and goals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using/navigating fundraising CRMs (preferably Salesforce).

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.

  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, and charts.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $83,000 – $91,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
