Job Summary
The University Counseling Center (UCC) at the University of Utah enthusiastically welcomes applications for a full-time staff psychologist to become an integral member of our large dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is a fully benefited, full-time 12-month position. Responsibilities include providing individual, group, relationship counseling, conducting initial consultations, clinical supervision, and crisis intervention services. Possession of strong clinical skills, the ability to manage a full client caseload, demonstrated competence in working effectively with a wide range of clientele and presenting concerns, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team is desired. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of and experience with college student mental health needs.
Psychologists with specific expertise or interest in one of the following specialization areas are highly encouraged to apply:
  • Psychological assessment, particularly with college student population, with the ability to also provide training of predoctoral interns in assessment.
  • Experience and knowledge in substance abuse or disordered eating treatment.
  • Interest, skills, and/or experience providing embedded mental health services within a Health Sciences educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide initial consultations and crisis intervention services.
  • Conduct individual, couple/relationship, and group psychotherapy.
  • Provide outreach presentations to the campus community.
  • Provide clinical supervision and actively participate in other training-related activities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD or PsyD degree from APA accredited graduate program in counseling or clinical psychology. Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship in counseling or clinical psychology. At a minimum, must obtain licensure as a Certified Psychology Resident, with a strong preference for candidates with licensure as a Psychologist. Psychologists with specific expertise or interest in psychological assessment, substance abuse, or disordered eating treatment are highly encouraged to apply. Previous experience in college student mental health and crisis intervention preferred.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
