Job Description

The ASU Library is seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Communications and Web Services team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to outstanding customer service and possess exceptional communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and library stakeholders on a wide variety of creative and engagement initiatives and projects. 

Utilizing a proactive, problem-solving approach, the Project Coordinator will facilitate the planning, organization and completion of high-impact creative projects and initiatives. Employing project management frameworks and tools, the Project Coordinator will help streamline workflows and processes through identifying necessary resources and coordinating efforts of all contributors. The Project Coordinator works closely with colleagues throughout the library as well as within the Communication and Web Services team to achieve consistently high-quality results. This position reports directly to ASU Library's Associate University Librarian for Communication and Web Services.

The ASU Library Communications and Web Services team comprises skilled professionals with experience in marketing, communications, design, web development, librarianship, student outreach, higher education management and philanthropy. Our team plays a vital role in expanding knowledge, cultivating community and inspiring innovation at ASU and in our communities. We are passionate about connecting people with library services and resources while amplifying the library's vital role in supporting learning, discovery and research across the university.

Salary Range

$44,950-$62,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

Works with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s). 

Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with team; assigns tasks and identifies issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness. 

Prepares and maintains all project status reports and schedules; tracks milestones/deliverables, critical paths and dependencies; re-sets expectations (for stakeholders and team members) as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes. 

Responds to all inquiries regarding project status; prepares and responds to all regulatory reporting/filings to ensure compliance. 

Actively participates in library communications team activities in all areas: including providing design feedback and critique, supporting in-person strategic and outreach events and other areas of library communication. 

Develops and maintains collaborative and collegial relationships throughout the library organization. 


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing creative, design, web, event and/or marketing projects. 

Demonstrated experience with project management practices and platforms to effectively and efficiently produce desired results.

Experience in establishing and maintaining strong, effective and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and collaborators.

Successful experience with work that requires attention to detail, efficiency and organization skills.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)

Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service to internal and/or external stakeholders.

Ability to stay nimble, problem solve and make decisions among changing priorities. 

Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working in higher education, library, creative services or agency setting.


Working Environment

This position is based in a library environment on the Tempe campus.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting. 

Daily use of computers and associated technologies. 

Work collaboratively across various departments within the library and University as well as with diverse populations and groups.

Flexible Work Option
This position is eligible for flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy. (This is not a fully remote position.)
