Job Summary
 

The Program Coordinator serves as the primary contact for and coordinator of the Center for Global Health (CGH).
This role will provide support to the Associate Dean for Global Health, CGH Directors, Steering Committee members and Program Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of strategic goals of the Center; research, write, and submit reports on relevant events, and grants.

  • Develop and maintain CGH website and social media presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

  • Assist with the creation of print and digital marketing materials for various programs and events.

  • Compose quarterly CGH reports to UCMC and BSD administration.

  • Assist with student programs, writing, and editing of presentations, correspondence, and other documents as assigned.

  • Plan and organize CGH events.

  • Work with the team to support International exchanges and visitors to the University.

  • Maintain working relationship with other globally focused departments at the University of Chicago, including but not limited to UC Global, International House, and Career Advancement.

  • Assists with data entry and reports on results.

  • Assists in analyzing data. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.

  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.


Experience:

  • Experience working in an academic medical center, university or other higher education environment.

  • Previous academic coursework in global health.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with educational global health opportunities.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.

Preferred Competencies

  • Commitment to providing a high level of service and to working in a team environment.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Experience with research literature review and academic research writing, including editing and citation management.

  • Keen intellect and strong critical thinking ability.

  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations and assignments.

  • Willingness to attend necessary orientation and trainings through Chicago.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills.
