About the Opportunity

The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the College of Engineering Dean’s office. Directly reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, this position is essential for providing high-level logistical support across a range of functions within the Dean’s Office, encompassing undergraduate curriculum administration, academic initiatives, and committee operations.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Program Coordinator will be engaged in project management, offering vital office support, and contributing to various special projects aligned with the strategic objectives of the College. Collaboration with the Associate Dean on joint initiatives is integral, alongside the execution of routine tasks and independent projects aimed at advancing college goals and fostering student success.

The Program Coordinator will interface with an array of university stakeholders, engaging in data collection and analysis across multiple systems including registrar, finance, advising, enrollment, and co-op. Furthermore, they may oversee the work of students, temporary staff, or support personnel, ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day operational plans. Additionally, their role may involve coordinating and providing input into various projects, programs, or systems, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of college operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree is required with two years of administrative experience in a professional setting, demonstrated effective written and verbal communications skills along with interpersonal and organizational capabilities; excellent attention to detail with critical thinking skills, project management skills, excellent initiative, and self-motivation with flexibility to work under deadlines; and customer service skills. Proven ability to understand complex material to communicate effectively and must be able to work with confidential information and prioritize both routine and high-level tasks and demands. Thorough knowledge of professional office procedures, and demonstrated good judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills. Should be willing to assist on an as-needed-basis in a variety of administrative, academic, and event planning tasks. Proven ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage ongoing projects. Strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, Outlook email, spreadsheet and database software are essential. Calendar management experience necessary. Must be able to take initiative and follow through on tasks independently. In this fast-paced office, the successful candidate will be extremely adept at planning and prioritization, tactful communication, and will possess a strong organizational background along with ability to be flexible, professional, and creative in responding to requests with very short turnaround.
