Summary of Duties:

The Pre-clerkship Coordinator position provides complex and confidential coordination of the clerkship program and support to the Associate Dean of Clinical Education on the WSU Spokane campus. This position is the contact for clinical partners and pre-clinical medical students in Spokane, WA and is expected to provide response to all inquiries in a timely manner. This position exercises independent judgement and discretion in work related to the day to day operations of the ESFCOM campus in Spokane.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating the day-to-day operations for the ESFCOM clinical campus weeks during M1 and M2 years; coordinating student schedules for the 1st and 2nd year clinical campus week; maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; composing complex correspondences and materials for the office; serving as the first point of contact for the office and fostering relationships between WSU and external entities; maintaining databases; analyzing data to identify process inefficiencies and support the ADCE efforts in ensuring policy compliance.

Required Qualifications - Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1 (SSC/A1)Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

Required Qualifications - Program Specialist 2: A Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements for both job titles: :

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments and solve problems.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills and ability to initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, business administration, public administration, education or other related field. 

  • Experience in or familiarity with clinical operations/physician offices/hospital administration.

  • Demonstrated clinical coordination experience, building complex schedules, and using scheduling software tools.

  • Demonstrated experience and training in healthcare delivery (manager, ward clerk, etc.).

  • Demonstrated awareness of and ability to collaborate and integrate with the local host agencies.

Monthly Salary:

  • Student Services Coordinator/Advisor 1: $3,750.85 - $4,985.88; Commensurate with qualifications.

    • In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.   • Program Specialist 2: Range: 42 | $3,401 -$4,541| Step A-M. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
