Job Summary:

The University of Colorado l Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for an Assistant Clinician position at the Haven Mother’s House. This part/full-time University Staff (non-classified) position has various shifts available. 

This position acts as an assistant to clinical staff at Reflections for Women, an up to 90-day residential treatment program for women, pregnant women, and women with infant children with severe substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.  Reflections for Women is a Medicaid and Special Connections provider.  Women may reside with children who are up to 15 months of age in treatment. This position assists in monitoring the milieu and assisting in providing supportive services to clients such as attending community meetings and events with clients, assisting in picking up medications, monitoring client medications, participating in client staffing’s, and assuring the safety of the facility.  One will assist clients in learning behavior modification techniques and is an integral part of the team to assist clients through their recovery process.  This position provides monitoring services such as urinalysis screens, facility searches and performs basic administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe, monitor, and intervene in drug/alcohol treatment through acting as a support staff to the Substance/Behavioral Health Clinician. 
  • Assure client compliance with program structure.
  • Monitor and assist mothers with basic infant care routines and safe sleep practices.
  • Filing and auditing charts, uploading client information into the electronic health record. 
  • Assist counselors with cognitive/behavioral approaches and assignments. 
  • Support, monitor and document urine screens and monitor and document client medications.
  • Perform routine inspections of residential premises both inside and out as well as conduct facility head counts, fire drills, property inventories, and room and client bed checks. 
  • Transport clients off site as needed, attend staff meetings and individual and/or group supervision, and training. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a Certified Addiction Counselor I (now known as a CAT) certification or higher.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, counseling psychology or a related field.
  • Experience working in a substance use disorder treatment program with adult female clients.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Must agree to fingerprinting and a criminal background check. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
  • Subject to pre-employment, post-accident or incident or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing per UCD Addiction Research and Treatment Services Department Policies.

Because this position requires direct observation of females submitting specimens for urinalysis and nightly bed checks of female clients, being female has been determined to be a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification and only females will be considered for the position.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position at full-time 1.0 FTE has been established as $39,720 - $46,075. 

Salary for part-time appointments will be prorated based on FTE.

•Second shift differential – Additional differential of .075 (7.5%) times annualized hourly rate. Shall be paid for all hours worked when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

•Third shift differential – Additional differential of .14 (14%) times annualized hourly rate. Shall be paid for all hours worked when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

•Weekend shift differential – Additional differential of .20 (20%) times annualized hourly rate. Shall be paid for all hours worked when more than half of the scheduled shift hours fall on a weekend shift that starts at 4 p.m. Friday evening through 6 a.m. Monday.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
