ROLE of the POSITION

Reporting to the senior director for brand content in the UNLV Division of Integrated Marketing & Branding, the marketing manager helps lead the university's marketing initiatives. The position will develop and execute targeted marketing plans for specific academic degree programs as well as contribute to and manage the integrated marketing plans for the university's institutional campaigns (image and reputation).  

The manager has supervisory responsibility for two content marketing specialists and will work in collaboration with the divisions' web, social media, and creative teams; with undergraduate and graduate student recruitment; and with academic colleges and programs. This position requires excellent project management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage marketing campaigns from conception through implementation and adaptation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, business administration or relevant field from a regionally accredited college or university and from a regionally accredited college or university and minimum of 5 years of direct experience in developing and implementing integrated marketing plans. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

This position requires knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

Knowledge:

  • Expert knowledge of English grammar and principals of marketing copywriting, AP Style and proofreading 
  • Understanding of traditional and digital marketing methods (digital and print advertising, SEO, paid/organic social media)  
  • Knowledge of CRM and email marketing processes 
  • Knowledge of marketing technology and digital asset management tools
  • Knowledge of graphic identity systems and principals of good design
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), web CMS, Google analytics, and other marketing-related software and tools

Skills:

  • Excellent research, interviewing, and writing skills to produce content in a variety of styles and platforms for diverse audiences
  • Excellent project management skills and highly organized with ability to set and track deadlines, budgets, and other constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction and support to marketing clients and creative teams, including writers, video producers, photographers and graphic designers

Abilities:

  • Identify, suggest, develop and/or contribute, and execute marketing campaigns 
  • Adapt content for brand messaging and voice, audience, and platform
  • Independently plan, coordinate and execute production of creative communication products from idea through optimization
  • Work efficiently under deadline pressure, forecast potential setbacks, and develop solutions
  • Be highly flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances, organizational delays, and political sensitivities
  • Foster collaboration across diverse, multifunctional teams, and conduct interpersonal relationships with professional demeanor
  • Show a commitment to UNLV's mission and efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in higher education

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
