Job Summary:

The Lead Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is a professional who has the ability and experience to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate patient care activities, while leading other ATC and clinical team members. This position is responsible for the safe and effective direct delivery of patient care, including patient intake, assistance with outpatient procedures, coordination of patient services, triage, casting/DME, patient education, and management of clinic processes and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, patient progress, physical exam, and any special tests. 
  • As instructed by the physician, complete appropriate forms and referrals. 
  • Exerts effort to ensure a positive work environment that demonstrates dedication to the mission, vision, and values of CU SOM.
  • Leads team with the utmost professionalism, upholds conduct standards, and holds team members accountable for their work, behavior, and clinic citizenship. 
  • Promotes a respectful and professional work environment.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1+ years of relevant leadership experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience working in conjunction with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
  • Advanced knowledge of the field as it relates to sports medicine.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • Certification by The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
  • Licensure with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $60,928 to $77,500.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
