Job Summary
University of Utah HR Management (UHRM) is dedicated to accuracy, efficiency, and providing excellent customer service. The HR Service Center Representatives position is a first contact customer service position and provides a great opportunity to learn or increase basic human resources knowledge and skills. This position performs customer service duties, answering employee questions via phone, email, and in person. The major responsibilities in this position include acting as the first point of contact for all employee inquiries, appropriately handling sensitive employee issues, ensuring that employee information is entered correctly, researching and resolving questions. 
 
UHRM currently supports a hybrid work schedule. The HR Representative will be required to work one week at the front desk in our HR office located in downtown SLC every 4 weeks. The remaining weeks the employee will work one day in the office and then from home. An employee hired into this role who telecommutes will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and sign the University of Utah Telecommuting Agreement. 
Responsibilities
Respond to HR Inquiries: Provide initial support for employee questions on HR policies, benefits, and procedures via phone and internet. 
Assist with Benefits: Help employees with benefit selections and changes, ensuring they understand their options. 
Learn HR Policies: Actively engage in learning organizational HR policies and procedures to accurately assist employees. 
Perform Administrative Tasks: Execute routine administrative duties such as data entry and maintaining employee records. 
Support HR Initiatives: Participate in HR projects and initiatives as directed, providing logistical support. 
Minimum Qualifications
Three years office experience with at least one year experience in Human Resources or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Data entry experience is preferred. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.
Preferences
Experience working in a call center or a high-volume customer service role 
Strong active listening and verbal/written communication skills 
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively  
Comfortable with conflict resolution with the ability to deescalate
