Job Summary:

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner. This full-time, University Staff position is responsible for managing the Divisions personnel processes including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, payroll, promotion, performance management and separations. 

The selected candidate must be a team player and understand University policies and procedures, as tasks and duties must be properly aligned with state, university, and departmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the full cycle recruiting process for the Division from the creation of the job description to the completion of search summaries to ensure the University’s commitment to diversity and equality in employment is present throughout the hiring process.
  • Prepares letters of offer, making certain appropriate language is included, gathers, and assembles supporting documents for offer packets, a detailed multi-step process requiring routing to multiple stakeholders to review and approve.
  • Manages new employee onboarding by coordinating workspace, badging, orientation, and I-9 paperwork. Creating employee resources, as needed.
  • Serves as the Division’s payroll liaison, monitoring and managing all payroll transactions. Works collaboratively with Central Human Resources to ensure all pay and non-pay transactions are entered accurately and approved in HCM (PeopleSoft).
  • Facilitates the separation process for resignations, retirements, and terminations.
  • Collect, track, and submit the Division’s annual employee evaluations to the Department of Medicine.
  • Serves as a resource to the Division’s faculty, research, exempt professional, and student workers answering general questions and providing HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Senior Level: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of professional level human resources experience.

Principal Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Three (3) years of professional level human resources experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an academic medical center or clinical environment.
  • Experience with Taleo (CU Careers) and PeopleSoft (HCM).
  • Experience with Smartsheet and DocuSign.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as:

Senior Level: $51,190 - $65,113

Principal Level: $58,868 - $74,880

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
