The Tandon Human Resources Administrator will provide a broad range of HR services to support Tandon faculty, staff and student employees. Position will manage the intake of HR queries through phone and Tandon HR email box to ensure responsive, timely and accurate information and processing. Position will have knowledge of HR policies, procedures and systems (Workday), and exercise professionalism, attention to detail, and sound judgment in responding to routine, moderately complex and confidential inquiries. Position will report to the Associate Director, and will coordinate the Adjunct processing between Tandon departments, Tandon Faculty Affairs and Tandon Human Resources. Position will also support visa processing, as well as recruitment efforts including coordination of the interview process, conducting phone screens and initiating background checks. Position will assist with planning and coordination of various special events including monthly Tandon Administrative Support Network (ASN) meetings, and Annual Service Awards. Position will operate within a process improvement mindset to identify and implement changes/improvements necessary to improve Tandon HR service delivery and efficiency.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree HR or related field
Required Experience:
2+ years HR or related experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment. • Knowledge and ability to recognize which tasks to be addressed by him/herself and which to escalate to other HR team members. • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a quick moving and change oriented environment. • Ability to manage complex and ambiguous situations and drive towards solution. • Ability to analyze, diagnose and solve routine to moderately complex problems. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills. • Must possess exceptional customer service, critical thinking, and analytical skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision. • Ability to produce quality work. • Detail oriented and dependable. • Team player with a process improvement mindset.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Prior university or academic experience a plus • Experience with applicant recruiting, tracking systems, payroll, and/or visa processing helpful. • Knowledge of various HR areas including benefits, performance management, recruiting, training and employment laws helpful.
