Ave Maria University is seeking applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. This is a full time, 12-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics.
Duties
- The primary duty of the Head Softball Coach is to teach, train, and develop the skills of the student athletes in the sport of softball while integrating the Catholic faith through mentorship and virtue development.
- The Head Softball Coach will also manage the planning and administration of the softball program and will provide leadership and oversight to the student athletes, serving as a positive mentor, encouraging virtue development, and creating a positive image within the Ave Maria University mission for the softball program.
- The Head Softball Coach will also be responsible for implementing a virtue development program, while managing the sport’s administration including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention of student athletes, scheduling, travel, budget management, fundraising, equipment, and overall program management.
- The Head Softball Coach will adhere to all guidelines and regulations set forth by the Sun Conference, NAIA and Ave Maria University.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree and previous softball coaching experience are required.

- Candidates must show a demonstrated knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission of the university and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
