Job Summary
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CVEEN) is currently seeking a full-time Grant and Contract Officer to complement our team. We are looking for a capable administrator proficient in both pre-award and post-award grants & contracts management. This role entails providing basic oversight while focusing on pre-award management in collaboration with the Price College of Engineering award office, and autonomously handling post-award management responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills are critical for success in this position as it will regularly interface with internal and external groups.
  • Assists Price College of Engineering with Pre-Award group including, but not limited to, budget creation, university documentation submission, federal document submissions, and additional support as needed. This position does not participate in grant writing.
  • Coordinates post-award reporting to GCA and agencies. This can include financial reporting questions, mid-project reports, evidence of completions. If any budget corrections for the projects, they will work with OSP for the corrections.
  • 25% of effort will be devoted to the USAID- HESSA research project with direct project and accounting management. The effort will include budget management, sponsor reporting, process sub-award, contractor, and independent consultant agreements and payments, assist with Pakistan office reimbursements, coordinate travel, and attend project meetings (as necessary).
  • Provides financial and policy support for grant budget review/tracking. Completes project and contract-related accounts payable and account receivable duties.
  • Support department leadership in providing financial oversight and reporting for an increasing number and variety of grants. Must be or will become skilled with university and department research administration post-award systems, processes, and policies.
  • With basic oversight from a supervisor, completes award administration including award set-up, modification, and compliance.
  • Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, following established policies and procedures with analysis of the issue, requiring moderate innovation and creative problem solving. Candidate must be able to addresses routine issues, follow-through on projects until completion and proactively search the solutions presented to leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of relevant work experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
