Job Summary
Works with drafting software to design, draft, and edit drawings for construction projects. Organizes and works with document repositories to ensure files are obtained and maintained for easy access.
Responsibilities
Designs and drafts working and master drawings for the construction of university facilities. Manages and updates as-built drawings and ensuring this repository is up to date. Performs mathematical computations to develop the design and detailed specifications of components. Interprets design concepts and determines nature and type of detailed working drawings needed. Analyzes specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas and related design data to determine critical factors affecting design of components. Discusses specifications and needs with customers. Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit. Other responsibilities/duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a design related field; two years of practical drafting experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); knowledge of drafting techniques and practices; CAD experience; familiarity with fire, electrical, and building codes for the State of Utah; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills is required.
This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Preferences
Experience and knowledge of drafting mechanical and other engineering drawing.
