Job Description

The Department of English at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks an Associate/ Assistant Professor of English (tenure-track, 9-month position) to begin Fall 2022. Duties include teaching of undergraduate and online graduate courses, and serving on departmental, University, and professional committees. Reduced teaching loads are provided and will depend on rank (i.e., Associate Professor vs. Assistant Professor). Generally, faculty teach 2-3 classes per semester. We desire candidates who: demonstrate strong research skills, have a strong record of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals (commensurate with experience), have the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding, work with diverse student populations, and have the ability to teach in areas that complement or strengthen our undergraduate and online graduate programs.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in English or related fields.  Candidates with expertise in American Literature of any period are encouraged to apply.
