Job Summary:

This faculty position will be part of the Division of Geriatric Medicine.  This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, fully remote, benefited and tenure track position.  As with most faculty in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, this will be an “at-will” position, meaning the employee can be terminated at any time without notice, and severance pay may not be provided.  75% effort dedicated to research and 25% effort dedicated to teaching.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original research in geriatrics and palliative care, including designing studies, collecting, and analyzing data, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop research projects that address key questions in geriatrics and palliative care.
  • Secure funding through grant applications to support research activities.
  • Teach nursing students and learners about geriatrics and palliative care principles through lectures, and seminars.
  • Participate in academic committees and contribute to service of the division.
  • Engage in community outreach and education and research initiatives to raise awareness about geriatric and palliative care issues and promote healthy aging and end-of-life care.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences and participate in professional societies related to geriatrics and palliative care.
  • Publish research findings in high impact journals.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field through continuing education, literature review, and participation in professional development activities. 

Work Location:

Fully Remote - this role is a fully remote position and will complete the Remote Work Participation Agreement process and submit it to the supervisor who will then submit it to the unit Human Resources business partner.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.  

  • PhD
  • 3+ years experience in adult education 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DNP
  • Postdoctoral Fellow Palliative Care and Aging
  • Experience with elderly research 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong research and teaching skills

  The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$112,014

The above starting salary represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
