Job Summary:

The University of Colorado, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology along with the Section of Transplantation seeks a transplant hepatology advanced practice provider at the Assistant Professor level to join the transplant hepatology team. Duties would include outpatient liver transplant clinics, lab review with post-liver transplant coordinators and teaching duties.  

This transplant hepatology position would be entirely management of post-liver transplant recipients >90 days after transplant. Advanced practice providers for this position will work directly with board certified transplant hepatologists in ongoing care of liver transplant recipients from across the Rocky Mountain region. Clinic work will be at the main campus as well as outreach clinics in the Denver metro area and Rocky Mountain Region (Albuquerque and Grand Junction). Several opportunities for APPs to be involved in education of physician assistants and nurse practitioners students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent clinical care of liver transplant recipients over the life of the recipient including follow-up of laboratory testing and imaging in electronic medical record system (EPIC).
  • Participation in weekly liver transplant selection, pathology and hepatobiliary conferences

Patients assigned to a primary hepatologist and transplant coordinator for clinical support.

Work Location:

This role is expected to work both at the University of Colorado main campus, Lone Tree site in south Denver and quarterly outreach clinics in Albuquerque and Grand Junction.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible in Hepatology
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State of Colorado medical license
  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such Epic

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their family members, medical staff, residents, fellows, medical students, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

    $100,000-$130,000 

    The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
