Job Summary:

  • Assistant Professor of Flute (Tenure-Track, salary negotiable).

Work Performed: 

  • The position primarily includes teaching flute at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Teaching chamber music and other duties as assigned.
  • Actively recruit flute students.
  • Serve as requested on school, college, and university committees and in leadership positions in community and professional organizations. 

Necessary Qualifications:

  • The qualified candidate will have a Doctorate (DMA, EdD, or PhD) in Flute.
  • The candidate will demonstrate pedagogical knowledge and/or performance experience in solo repertoire, chamber music, and large ensembles. 
  • The ability to creatively engage students in the studio and in ensembles will be expected.
  • The candidate will have substantive performance experience.
  • Additionally, active participation in professional organizations will also be expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of previous college-level teaching are preferred.
